The People Behind Wazoka

About Us
We are Loic and Yumi, a French–Japanese couple running Café Bellecour, our cozy café‑restaurant in Tokoname, Aichi‑ken.
From the very beginning, we knew we wanted a website that truly represented us, but the tools available never felt quite right. Everything was either too limited, too complicated, or too heavy to manage on a daily basis. Some features we needed simply didn’t exist, and the platforms that did offer them were slow, bloated, or frustrating to maintain.

I, Loic, have been building websites since the early 2000s. Over the years I’ve created personal blogs, business sites, and several online shops for myself and others.
After spending a few years running our restaurant website on WordPress, I eventually reached a point where I wanted something better—something faster, lighter, and fully under my control. So I decided to rebuild the entire site from scratch.

Starting from zero allowed me to create a clean, efficient, and highly secure system without the constant bugs and issues that came with plugin updates and heavy themes. Once the new Café Bellecour website went live, we began receiving requests from friends, customers, and other small business owners asking if we could build a site for them as well. That’s when we realized there was a real need for simple, affordable, and reliable websites—especially for small businesses that don’t have the time, technical knowledge, or budget to manage a complex platform.
This inspired us to launch a small side business focused on creating fast, secure, and easy‑to‑use websites tailored specifically for local entrepreneurs.

Yumi plays a key role in everything we do. She helps refine usability, ensures natural Japanese translations, and contributes to the overall design and user experience.
We’ve worked together for many years—both in the restaurant and in our online projects—and we’ve become a very efficient team. Combining my technical background with her eye for clarity, culture, and design allows us to create websites that are not only functional, but also warm, welcoming, and easy for anyone to use.
